It evokes the throwing off of the yoke of British rule during the American Revolution. The horse is centered on a rising sun. The interpretation is a bold representation of the determination and power of the passion for American liberty. Also included on the reverse are the inscriptions "LIBERTY" and "2022".The reverse depicts a close-up image of an eagle with an open beak along with the inscription "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and a "P" mint mark indicating the medal was struck in Philadelphia.
