Regarded as one of the finest Sovereign Mint bullion rounds in the world, the Silver Libertad first went into production in 1982 and is fabricated by the oldest mint in North America, Mexico City Mint (Casa de Moneda de México). Libertads are kept to very low mintages, especially for world mint sovereigns and low numbers of these mintages are imported into the United States for sale.
A limited number of these Proof silver coins are made each year. Mintage for 2021 was a scant 1,250 coins, making this a very limited run and hard to find worldwide. Each coin is sealed in the original airtight mint capsule and features an extra-detailed strike with highly mirrored backround. 999 Fine Silver Bullion coin commemorates Mexican Independence and depicts the lady of Winged Victory holding broken chains of bondage and raising a laurel wreath high in triumphant celebration of freedom. Purity, content, mintage year and mint mark are also stamped on the reverse.The obverse depicts the Mexican Coat of Arms with a mighty eagle perched atop a cactus, engaged in battle with an obstinate serpent.
